The historic Italian Venice-based fashion company will take part in the 61st edition of Milan Design Week with three events presented in its two stores on Via Solferino.
On Tuesday 18 April, the opening day of the Salone del Mobile, LA REPUBBLICA presents DOOR, the new furnishing and design monthly magazine, edited by Emanuele Farneti. Each month, not only the outstanding achievements of the furnishing sector will be reported, but also the worlds of contemporary art, travel, food and much more.
The following day, on Wednesday 19, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the creations of Carlo Moretti, a “factory of originals” (an author's factory) founded in 1958, known for the production of unique pieces in mouth-blown glass and finished by hand by Murano glass masters in the event “The Art of Murano Glass”.
The collaboration between the two Venetian brands began in 2016, continued in 2022 with a temporary space in the Slowear boutique in New York, and is now landing in the Slowear women's store in the heart of the Brera Design District with a sophisticated selection of vases and furnishing accessories.
It’s the idea of contrast that inspired the 2008 Minimax collection of limited-edition vase-sculptures, while the historic Colate vase, a Carlo Moretti Studio project from 1992, is proposed in its current reinterpretation in two declinations.
Gemmato re-edition of 2020 features hot-applied gemstone decorations in aquamarine or green.
The Fasce Riportate vase of 1987 is obtained by a skilful manual technique of superimposing bands of fused glass.
These objects of glassmaking mastery become collectors' pieces of art.
At the end of the week, on 20th April Slowear will celebrate the centenary of Phaidon, the British publisher of visual arts, photography, design and architecture, founded in Vienna in 1923.
For this occasion, a selection of prestigious titles from its catalogue of collector's books will be presented.
